She thinks they’re a mistake
I've spent my whole life working toward my goals, being the best I can be at my job. Arrogant, persistent, pain in the skirt billionaire Colin Huntley isn't going to change that, even if he is the hottest man I've ever had the pleasure of working with. And pleasure is definitely something the man can deliver, without question. Our single, mind blowing night together was a mistake, though. A one-night stand brought on by a lapse in judgment. One I won't make again, so long as I stay strong as he starts his chase. Because when Colin decides he wants something, he gets it. And he's decided he wants me.
He always gets what he wants
Sloane McLaren may be the best VP I’ve ever had, but she taunts me every day in her tight little skirts and her librarian-fantasy glasses. Especially since that night. The one when I had her in my bed, in my shower, bent over my kitchen counter. I thought we were finally on the same page...until I woke up to cold sheets and an empty bed. She may assume it’s business as usual in the office, but I didn’t build my billion-dollar company on assumptions. I want her back in my bed, and I’m willing to play dirty to get her there.

3 out of 5 stars

So London Hale books are usually five star reads for me but this one kind of missed the mark for me a bit. As deliciously steamy as this book was I just didn't connect with the two main characters, Colin and Sloane, in the same way as I did with the other couples in the other London Hale books. But while I didn't connect with the characters in this book, I still liked the overall story and really enjoyed reading about them together. They really worked together as a couple and I like how their romance played out although I got to say that the end was a bit abrupt. Overall, this book was an okay romance read for me and while it's not my favorite London Hale book I still recommend it for fans of this series.

COVER REVEAL: Wanderlust by Lauren Blakely

They say Paris is always a good idea...

You know what I say? Paris would be a much better idea if I spoke the dang language. I can't even board the metro to visit the Louvre without ending up at the Moulin Rouge, and let's not even mention how I'll ever make it through a day at my new office.

Fortunately my company hooks me up with my own personal translator. Ooh la la. Or should I say bloody hell? Because he's charming, witty, and British, and he brings the city to life for me. Soon, I can order a croque monsieur hold the ham, discuss perfume with my co-workers, and barter at the outdoor market. I can also tell the sexy Brit by my side how much I want him to kiss me under the streetlamps.

Except there's a catch - Paris might be all we have.

One more assignment before I can take off on my big adventure...

And it's a good farewell gig too since my newest client is a fetching American who loves to explore the cafes and cobbled streets while I teach her the language of love. We fall into a fast and flirty friendship, but Paris has a way of making lovers out of friends, and soon we're spending our nights together too - très risqué. The trouble is, my wanderlust is calling to me, and soon I'll be traveling the globe to fulfill a promise I made long ago.

What could possibly go wrong with falling in love in Paris? Nothing...unless one of you is leaving.

REVIEW: Hot Shot by Kelly Jamieson

A former Navy SEAL and current bad boy bar owner learns to trust a free spirit in this steamy novel of unexpected romance from the bestselling author of Body Shot and the Heller Brothers series.

Marco Solis knows that if he gets too close to people they disappear. His parents were deported back to Mexico when he was fourteen, his fiancée married someone else while he was in the military, and now his business partner’s spending more time with his girl than with Marco. For better or worse, that’s how Marco meets Carrie Garner. She’s legitimately model-hot. She’s also a nut—a wild, artsy, unapproachable nut. So why is Marco so interested in cracking her shell?

Although Carrie Garner is a natural in front of the camera, her dream is to make it as a photographer. Soon she’ll be heading to Spain for design school, and she’ll miss her best friend, Hayden, like crazy. She’ll even miss Hayden’s boyfriend, Beck—but she won’t miss Beck’s partner, Marco. Bossy, brooding, and annoyingly sexy, Marco really pushes her buttons, though he obviously wouldn’t mind pushing her buttons in an up-against-the-wall, hard-and-fast kind of way. The craziest part is, if Carrie lets him do that, well . . . she may never want to leave.

4 out of 5 stars

Hot Shot, the second Last Shot novel by Kelly Jamieson was a fun contemporary romance. Having met Marco and Carrie in the previous book in this series, I was excited to see them paired up in this book. These two were absolutely perfect together. The chemistry that the author created between them in this book was off the charts hot and I couldn't get enough of it. I also loved all the back and forth between these two in this book. While I wouldn't call this book an enemies to lovers romance since Marco and Carrie weren't exactly enemies, but the book had the same thrilling and passionate feel that I usually get from those types of romances and I loved that about this book. It made this romance a book that I was incapable of putting down and still think of fondly even though it has been months since I read it back in May. Overall, this book was a very satisfying romance. I loved it a lot and really recommend it!

5 out of 5 stars

Can't Forget You, the third book in Rachel Lacey's Risking It All series, was another absolutely phenomenal romance by this author. Out of the three friends this series focused on, Mark was the one I was most anxious to read about and he did not disappoint. His and Jessica's love story was everything I was expecting it to be and more. It is no secret that I adore second chance romances and this book was the perfect example as to why those types of romances have a special place in my heart. On top of being just an amazing second chance romance, I also really loved the part of the story focused on the land that both Mark and Jessica wanted to purchase to expand their businesses. I really enjoyed the way everything played out. The way the issue was resolved was perfect and made this story even more satisfying. I also absolutely loved the way that the author touched base on all of the previous couples in this series. Even though the book was about Mark and Jessica it always makes me happy to see all the other couples being happy together and the author did not disappoint in keeping us updated on everyone. But back to Mark and Jessica. Out of the the four love stories presented in this series, they are definitely my favorite. Everything from their history from when they were teens to them reconnecting and trying again as adults was absolutely perfect. This romance truly was a wonderful read and I really recommend it!

5 out of 5 stars

Crash and Burn was an interesting book to read. I wasn't really sure what to think of it at the beginning because it's a departure from what I've come to expect from a romance by this author, but while it was different she still wrote it really, really well. I loved reading Isa and Nate's story. Their story was absolutely perfect. It was suspenseful, and sweet, and hot and not just because these two were stuck in the path of a forest fire. It truly was amazing how the author blended all the different aspects of this book together making it a romance that I was incapable of putting down and overall I was just really impressed by this book. Out of all of the books I have read by Rachel Lacey, I can honestly say that Crash and Burn is my favorite of her stories and I'm looking forward to reading more books like this from this author hopefully in the near future. Needless to say, I really recommend this book.

REVIEW: The Right Kind of Reckless by Heather Van Fleet

I'm in love with a woman I can't have, and there's absolutely nothing I can do to stop myself from falling.

The problem? Her brother's my best friend.

I shouldn't want her this much. Not when it goes against the bro code. Not when I've never been able to commit to another woman for longer than a night.

But one look into her eyes and I'm a mess for her. She's my everything. Walking away might end me, but if I don't, I'll be risking a hell of a lot more than just a broken heart.

5 out of 5 stars

The Right Kind of Reckless was another amazing romance by Heather Van Fleet. I just could not get enough of Max and Lia. After meeting them in the first book in this series I was so anxious for them to get an HEA and the author did not disappoint with there story. First off, I loved that there really wasn't any hesitation on either characters part when it came to being together despite the initial back and forth at the beginning of the book before these admitted they had feelings for each other. And talking about them admitting they have feelings for each other I was really surprised at how quickly these two admitted that they were in love and how quick they were to accept it. It really worked for me in this book because sometimes it takes forever for the characters to get to that point and that sometimes makes the story drag, but Max and Lia got over that quickly and it allowed the author to focus on other goodness. But while Max and Lia went for it early on in this book, there relationship wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. Both characters had some stuff to get through and things to take care of before they could get their HEA. Going along with that I loved that a big focus in this book was Max and Lia taking the steps necessary to get their careers started and that they supported each other unconditionally. I also loved that a lot of the drama in the book was focused on them trying and failing to keep their relationship a secret. And of course the biggest highlight for me in this book not focused on the swoon-worthy romance was baby Chloe. Seriously it was always so adorable and heartwarming to watch any of the characters interact with the fifteen-month old especially when it was Max in full-on uncle mode. But getting back to the romance, the relationship between Max and Lia was perfect. I didn't think the author could top Collin and Addison as a great couple, but Max and Lia totally did and it was spectacular. Overall, I love, love, loved this book and I really recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars

Trouble Next Door was another super fun romantic comedy by Stefanie London and I truly enjoyed it! With that said it wasn't my favorite Stefanie London book because the whole scenario where the heroine of the book is trying to help the hero win back his ex never really works for me. And while Stefanie London wrote it well, I'm still not a fan of that situation and that is why this book is a four star read for me instead of five. But as much as I dislike that scenario, the book was well written like I already stated and the main characters were great. McKenna and Beckett were so much fun for me to read about and I couldn't get enough of them together. I really loved the way that they met with McKenna's package containing a sex toy accidentally being delivered to Beckett's apartment. The whole situation was absolutely hilarious and really set the mood for the rest of book. Stefanie London is one of my favorite writers of romantic comedies and she really delivered with this book. It was funny and sweet and just the right amount of sexy and I really enjoyed it. Overall, this book was a win for me and I really recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars

I had read the first Love Undercover book earlier this year and really enjoyed, so figured I would like The Attraction Equation. But I was wrong I didn't just like The Attraction Equation, I absolutely loved this book. Almost everything about this book worked for me. First off, I really loved the heroine. Gina was adorable and likable and kind of quirky and I loved reading about her. I also really loved Max. He was just as adorable as Gina when it came down to it, but what I really loved about him was how different he was from Gina. While Gina life was kind of mess and she was all over the place, Max's world was all structured and in order, but despite them being complete opposites they fit so well together and it was wonderful. But as much as I loved this book there was one tiny little thing that bothered me and that was the fact that Max tried to keep the fact that he worked for the FBI a secret from Gina. It just didn't make any sense to me and I didn't get the point of him not being honest with her about that from the very beginning. But other than that this book was pretty much perfect. Books featuring people pretending to be in a relationship and then actually falling in love are always so much fun and this book was no exception. Overall, I loved this book so much and I so recommend it! It's a must read!

5 out of 5 stars

Lord of Lies, the third book in Amy Sandas's Fallen Ladies series was absolutely amazing! While The Untouchable Earl is still my favorite, this book is such a close second that they are almost tied. Out of the three sisters, Portia was the most unconventional and as result the most fun to read about. I loved how daring she was and that she wasn't satisfied just sitting on the sidelines. I also really loved Dell. His chosen profession made him so exciting to read about and I loved all the different costumes and identities he would take on to get the job them. But as much as I loved Portia and Dell, the highlight for me in this book was obviously how they interacted together. These two were so good together in every way. They complimented each other perfectly and their romance was sweet and passionate and everything I've come to expect from a love story written by Amy Sandas. And that romance paired with the thrilling story present in this book made for an amazing read. I love, love, loved this book and really recommend it.

The Laird Takes a Bride, the second Penhallow Dynasty book was even better than the first book You May Kiss the Bride and that is really saying something because I absolutely loved the first book. This book was absolutely amazing in every way. First off, I really loved Alasdair Penhallow. While he wasn't present in the previous book in the series, he was briefly mentioned and with just that brief mention in the first book I was intrigued and I am happy to say that he lived up to what I was expecting him to be like. As for Fiona, she was a perfect historical romance heroine. I loved her so much. She was the perfect type of woman to be paired with Alasdair and these two truly were glorious together. I loved that their relationship began as a marriage of convenience thanks to some random old law that none of the characters were aware of before the start of the book. The whole situation made for a fun and exciting romance that had me feeling all the things and it was absolutely perfect! Overall, this book was spectacular. It was definitely one of my top all-time favorite historical romance reads and I really recommend it.

Before I had started reading this book, I had only been familiar with this authors paranormal romances and while I had enjoyed her paranormals, now that I have read a historical romance book by her I got to say that I love her historical romances so much more. This book was absolutely amazing! I loved it so much and couldn't get enough of the world that the author presented us with in this book. The characters all had my undivided attention from start to finish and the great characters paired with an exciting plot and a passionate and swoon-worthy romance made this book everything I wanted and needed from a historical romance. Overall, this book was an outstanding historical romance and I, of course, really recommend it.

So while writing my review of Joanna's most recent book A Daring Arrangement, I realized that I had never gotten around to writing a review for this book, so this is going to be a quick and to the point review to remedy that. Mogul was another an A+ read by Joanna Shupe. Given that the historical romance sub-genre is so saturated by stories set during the Regency period, reading Joanna's books, which for the most part are set in America during the Gilded Age are always a breath of fresh air and Mogul, which is the last book in her Knickerbocker Club series is one of my absolute faves. After getting glimpses of Calvin in the previous books in this series, it really was a treat to read about him. I really loved the way that his story played out. Introducing Lily as his past love and reuniting them was absolutely fantastic. Given the way that things ended between them in the past, their reunion was extremely tense and exciting and passionate. These two had a lot of issues to get through and it made me feel all the things while I was reading. As I said already, I loved the way that things played out and loved the way that the truth about what happened in the past was revealed slowly. It made for a very dramatic and satisfying romance that was everything I have come to expect from Joanna Shupe and more. Overall, I absolutely loved this book and couldn't get enough of it and for all the historical romance lovers who haven't gotten around to reading this one yet, I highly recommend it. It truly is an amazing romance and doesn't disappoint.

REVIEW: A Daring Arrangement by Joanna Shupe

Set in New York City’s Gilded Age, Joanna Shupe’s Avon debut introduces an English beauty with a wicked scheme to win the man she loves—and the American scoundrel who ruins her best laid plans…

Lady Honora Parker must get engaged as soon as possible, and only a particular type of man will do. Nora seeks a mate so abhorrent, so completely unacceptable, that her father will reject the match—leaving her free to marry the artist she desires. Who then is the most appalling man in Manhattan? The wealthy, devilishly handsome financier, Julius Hatcher, of course….

Julius is intrigued by Nora’s ruse and decides to play along. But to Nora’s horror, Julius transforms himself into the perfect fiancé, charming the very people she hoped he would offend. It seems Julius has a secret plan all his own—one that will solve a dark mystery from his past, and perhaps turn him into the kind of man Nora could truly love.

5 out of 5 stars

I have loved Joanna Shupe's writing for a while now, but with A Daring Arrangement she has truly outdone herself. This book was absolutely amazing in every way! First off, the main characters were all fantastic! I loved Nora so much. She was exactly the type of historical romance heroine I can never get enough of. Stubborn and passionate and willing to do whatever she needs to live her life. And then we have Julius, who was one of those historical romance heroes who had me contemplating whether I loved them or hated them. There were so many moments in which he was absolutely adorable and I loved him so much, but then there were moments in which I felt like he needed to be slapped. Thankfully, the moments that made me love him outweighed the bad and bastard wormed his way into my heart the same way that he wormed his way into Nora's in the end. Moving on, on top of great characters, the romance in this book was on point. I already love fake engagement stories so much, but this one was extra fun. It was really entertaining to read about these two falling in love because they both had their reasons for agreeing to the arrangement and they were both so set on accomplishing their goal and not fall in love, but of course they fell in love anyway and it was glorious. But talking about their reasons for agreeing to the fake engagement, I loved the way that the author had everything play out with Julius search for the people who ruined his father financially and the whole situation involving Nora's love back in England. The way that everything went down had me on the edge of my seat and it all ended in the most satisfactory way, but still left me wanting so much more which was amazing! Overall, I loved this book so much. It is definitely my favorite Joanna Shupe book to date and I really recommend it.

The Look of Love, the first book in Julia Kelly's The Matchmaker of Edinburgh series, was such a fun romance to read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was in a book slump before I read it and it was just what I needed to get me out of it. First off, I really loved the two principle characters in this book. Ina was quite quirky and adorable and I loved that she wasn't willing to give up the things she loved for anything. And then Gavin was sufficiently adorable and lovable. I loved that he and Ina were best friends before they married because the initial friendship between them was what made me love them so much together in the beginning. I loved that he supported her love of sculpting and was always there for her when others either wished to harm her or ridicule her for being an artist. But while I loved the friendship they first had, what really made this book for me was the ways their relationship changed and grew once they were married. I loved that despite being married they tried and failed to keep things platonic between each other. And I also loved that their relationship wasn't all good and that they went through ups and downs as they settled down together and accepted that they had real feelings for each other. Overall, this book was an absolutely fantastic historical romance and I'm looking forward to some more Matchmaker of Edinburgh books in the future. Yes, I really recommend this book.

COVER REVEAL: The One Night Stand by Elizabeth Hayley

Gabriel Torres thought his life after Major League Baseball would be simple and quiet, or at least quieter. However, as he takes over running the exclusive Players Club, he finds himself continually embroiled in scandal and drama. Surely nothing, and no one could make his life any crazier...Right?

Rachel Adler is a blast from Gabe’s past who crashed back into his life with the finesse of a freight train. But she's a welcome distraction. At least for a night.

Rachel has been working hard to become one of the top sports journalists in the country. She doesn't have time for a long-term romance or irresistibly charming baseball players. A one-night-stand with the man who she knew would hit it out of the park was all she wanted.

But when she gets a tip that Gabe could have ties to one of the biggest sports stories in history, a story that could make her career, Rachel decides that maybe she has a little time for the sexy baseball player after all. As she gets in deeper with both her story and Gabe, Rachel begins to question who she is, what she wants, and what exactly she’s willing to sacrifice for her career.

Will the potential grand-slam romance be stopped short or will Rachel and Gabe be able to go the distance?

Elizabeth Hayley is actually "Elizabeth" and "Hayley," two friends who love reading romance novels to obsessive levels. This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product is Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. They learned a ton about one another through the process, like how they clearly share a brain and have a persistent need to text each other constantly (much to their husbands' chagrin).

They live with their husbands and kids in a Philadelphia suburb. Thankfully, their children are still too young to read.

Elizabeth Hayley's writing motto is best captured by the words of Patrick Dennis: "I always start with a clean piece of paper and a dirty mind."

REVIEW: Tapping that Asset by London Hale

She only wanted one night
Being on the road all the time because of the family business makes for a lot of lonely nights. So when handsome, charming AJ Phelps finds me in the hotel bar, I’m ready for more than casual conversation. After an amazing night, my hope to continue a brief affair with the town charmer is derailed when I come face to face with him the following day. This time, he’s not just handsome, charming AJ. He’s all business...and the owner of the brewery my brother is dead set on ruining. All may be fair in love and war, but there’s nothing as cut throat as beer and business.

He wants it all
As an ex-pro baseball player turned business owner, I have it all. Or I thought I did until Kennedy Rochester crossed my path. A one night stand with a woman as hot, intelligent, and feisty as that? No brainer. At least not until the following morning when she steps into my brewery and tells me in no uncertain terms her family business is there to put me out of mine. I should loathe her for threatening my livelihood, but I don’t. I can’t. Not when all I think about when I look at her is our single, toe-curling night together. Not when I’d give nearly anything for just one more.

How these ladies continue to outdo themselves is impressive. This book was another flawless romance by London Hale. After briefly meeting AJ in Reunion, I was itching for him to also get a story and am happy that the author's gave him one because he was everything I was expecting and so much more. But as much as I loved AJ, Kennedy was the real highlight for me in this book. Pretty much all of the characters in this world that London Hale has created are born and raised in Temperance Falls, so it was fun to read about a character who was new to the community, plus while it took her some time to realize there was a way for her to help AJ not lose his business, she was still an amazing character. I loved how smart and passionate she was and that when push came to shove that she preferred to do the right thing instead of just going along with what her horrible brother wanted. And of course, the romance was absolutely amazing. From there one night stand to there secret affair it was all very satisfying to read and I couldn't get enough of them together. This book was one of those instances where I wished that these book were longer than novellas because I wanted so much more of AJ and Kennedy.

4 out of 5 stars

Misadventures of a Virgin was nothing like I was expecting it to be and I absolutely loved it!!! I was expecting this book to basically be about some blushing virgin coming to terms with her sexual needs and feelings, but what I got was so much better. The story that Meredith Wild crafted between June and Kase was so perfect. I really loved that this was a second chance romance because those always make me feel so much emotion and this one was not an exception. I also really liked that the plot focused on an ultimatum that Kase gave June that she needed to stay with him for two weeks in order for him to sell his land to her family's hotel or no deal. Usually, I would think that he was too much of a jerk for backing her into a corner like that, but the way the author went about it and the way that everything played out between June and Kase together on the farm made me okay with it. But as much as I loved reading about Kase and June falling in love, I got to say the reason that there fathers hated each other and all the details regarding their families's past really annoyed me and I just didn't like the way that part of the story played out on the page. It just seemed like unnecessary drama thrown in for the sake of creating more drama and I wasn't here for that. But other than that I really enjoyed the story. The romance that blossomed between Kase and June was quite sweet and of course the book was as a whole very, very steamy in all the best ways. Overall, I loved this book and recommend it.

REVIEW: Misadventures on the Night Shift by Lauren Rowe

Hotel clerk Abby Medford has always enjoyed the quiet solitude of the night shift. The long, boring hours allow her time to study her law books. But when bad-boy-rocker Lucas Ford checks into the penthouse suite one night and demands Abby personally deliver his room service request, her formerly quiet nights are quickly filled with Lucas’s erotic games.

But as Abby soon learns, if she thinks she can indulge her innermost desires with Lucas without giving him her heart, she’s dead wrong.

4 out of 5 stars

I have a love hate relationship with this book. There were parts that I absolutely loved about it, but there were also parts that I absolutely hated. Some of the things that I loved about the book was the setting and the way that the relationship between Abby and Lucas's relationship developed. The setting because I liked that everything happens in the hotel in that one penthouse suite. Having almost everything happen in Penthouse A made it seem like Abby and Lucas were in their own little world and that added to the fantasy of the situation that was playing out between the two characters and I really enjoyed that. As for how the relationship developed I loved that things went from Lucas being Abby's celebrity crush to her almost hating him to them getting together so that she could be his muse to them falling in love. That whole progression made me feel all of the things and I enjoyed every second of it. Now to the things I hated. These are going to be a bit spoilery but there really isn't any way I can talk about the stuff that didn't work for me without mentioning them. So first off, I really hated the focus on Lucas's sex tape. While I don't care that Lucas was obviously with other woman before Abby and I don't mind if it is talked about, the idea of having it immortalized with a sex tape in this book just didn't work for me. Also another thing that I hated was the threesome scene. I already don't like threesomes and love triangles in romance, but the one included in this book was absolutely ridiculous. I can get behind a threesome scene in a romance if it is done well, but in this book it was just weird and awkward and I really could have done without it. Going along with that the idea that Lucas had for recreating his past heartache was also ridiculous and didn't make any sense to me. But other than as I said I really did love the relationship that formed between Lucas and Abby. It really did make up for all the things that I did not like in this book, so overall this book was a win for me and I recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars

Misadventures of the First Daughter was an A+ steamy read. I loved this romance so much and I absolutely could not get enough of it. First off, while I hate politics, I love romances where someone falls in love with the person who's actual job is to protect them, so this book featuring the president's daughter falling in love with one of her secret service agents really worked for me. Who they were also made this romance forbidden, which is another favorite trope so really it was impossible for me to not absolutely love this book, which of course I did. But as much as I love forbidden romances and the like what really sold this book for me was the connection between Zane and Charlotte. The love that developed between them throughout the book was absolutely everything. It was intense and passionate and I was so invested in them getting a happy ending from the very beginning. And talking about them getting their happy ending, I really loved the way that the authors had everything play out and the way that things ended in this book. It was all very satisfying and left me very happy. Overall, I really loved this book and recommend it!

I love, love, loved this book! While I have enjoyed all of these standalone Misadventures books this is by far my favorite. The plot was a bit far-fetched and ridiculous, but in this instance it really worked for me. The situation that Carson found himself in in order to save his business was absolutely hilarious and allowed for the development of a romance that really had my full attention from start to finish. What I especially loved about the romance in this book was how quickly these two gave into their attraction and feelings for each other. That meant that the book was really fast paced and in turn there was never really a dull moment in this story. Also while the book was fast paced that didn't mean that the relationship between Carson and Ella wasn't developed properly. Even though everything happens very quickly the love between Carson and Ella felt very real and at the end I was very satisfied with how the author made everything play out. Overall, this book was great and I so recommend it!

4 out of 5 stars

Misadventures of a Good Wife was a very enjoyable romance. I really liked the premise of the book with a happily married couple being torn apart when the husband has to fake his death to keep his loved ones safe but then reconnecting. I loved how intense Kate and Price relationship was. They had that type of love that really was just everything and that is what really made this book worth it for me and kept me turning the page one after the next to see how everything was going to play out. But as much as I loved the romance between Kate and Price, the story surrounding why Price had to fake his death wasn't as developed as I wanted it to be and that is what made this book a four star read instead of a five star read for me. Despite that, I really did enjoy this book overall and I really recommend it!

5 out of 5 stars

Misadventures of a City Girl was the first book I have read by both Meredith Wild and Chelle Bliss and I now understand why so many people rave about their books because this book was really, really good. First off, I loved the type of characters paired up in this book. The whole city girl hooking up with the guy who prefers to live off the grid is a trope that always works for me and Madison and Luke's relationship was no exception. Secondly, this book was in general a fun and steamy read and in my opinion the more fun and steamy a book is the better. Lastly, as fun and steamy as this book was it did have some substance to it, so the story was able to keep my attention from start to finish and left me craving so much more. Overall, I really loved this book. I really recommend it and I will be seeking out more by these two authors in the future.

4 out of 5 stars

It's been a while since I've read a Laura Kaye book and this book was just as god as I remember her writing being. I hadn't read the previous books in this series, so it took me a little bit to get all the characters straight in my head, but once I learned who everyone was in reference to each other I really enjoyed this romance. I couldn't get enough of Cora and Slider. They were both very lovable characters and from the very beginning I became very emotionally invested in their story. Their love story was fantastic. I loved that the author didn't add any unnecessary and ridiculous roadblocks to their relationship. I loved that despite some initial hesitation thanks to their age difference and the fact that Cora technically worked for Slider that once they acknowledged their feelings for each that they made it work. Romance aside I really loved all the familial interactions in this book. From the little family that Cora formed with Slider and his young sons Sam and Ben to the larger family formed by all the Raven Riders. Seriously, the strong bond present between all the characters was amazing and really was one of the highlights for me in this books. The lengths they were all willing to go for each other. But as much as I loved about this book, this book wasn't a perfect read. The whole business with the dog fighting ring happened way to quickly. While justice was served, the fact that the resolution to that whole issue happened off the page made it less satisfying to read about. But, overall, this book was wonderful. I adored this story and the characters and since I hadn't read the previous book in this series I am really looking forward to going back and reading them ASAP. Needless, to say I really recommend this book!
